At Blanc we care about you, and we care about the integrity of your hair, we want you to achieve your goals and we are so excited to be a part of this journey with you.

Hair history plays a major role when having any lightening service performed, we need to know if you have ANY colour in your hair, any previous lightening services and if you have ever had any chemical services performed on your hair.

There is a massive difference in lightening natural virgin hair and lightening artificial coloured hair. Artificial colour sticks to the hair, so even if you had your hair coloured years ago we need to know about it because it is likely the colour will still be in the hair.

The picture to the left shows us virgin hair at the roots, artificial colour in the mid lengths and old previously lightened ends. On the right we can see how the hair has lifted, the roots have lifted to a clean even blonde because they are virgin and didn’t have any colour to cut through. The mids have lifted to a brassy orange and are nowhere near as light as the roots, this is because they have had to lift through old artificial colour.

Before we start your lightening service we will always explain that it may not be perfect after the first go. Transitioning to blonde is a journey and the key is to be patient. We want the integrity of your hair to last the journey and we dont want to push it to the point of no return. Hair is delicate and we have to take care of it in order to achieve the blonde hair of your dreams.

It is important to note that it might take multiple services to achieve your goals depending on how dark your hair is and if you have any pre existing artificial colour in your hair. After lightening your hair may have to be toned down to an ashier deeper colour to counteract the brassiness. Brassiness and orange tones can not be toned to a lighter and brighter colour. This is why getting the bright blonde of your dreams can be a process.

Caring for your hair at home is key to achieving a beautiful colour. Supermarket shampoos and conditioners can contain silicones and plastics which can build up on your hair. Find a shampoo and conditioner that is sulphate and paraben free and do regular treatments on your hair to keep it looking and feeling healthy.

At Blanc we live and swear by the importance of at home hair care, All of our product ranges in salon are sulphate and paraben free.
